OPTIONS FOR PLAYERS NOT SELECTED

TRYOUTS ARE A DIFFICULT TIME. One of the toughest jobs for any coach is deciding who makes the team and who does not. The IVC coaching staff strives to make all decisions fairly and without bias after extended deliberation and evaluation of each prospective student-athlete. During the tryout process, it is not unusual for some girls to decide they would rather not continue trying out. If you think you’d like to withdraw from consideration for a spot on the team, first talk it over with one of the coaches. You may be underestimating your chances. If you are not selected this season and would like to try out again in the future, other options are available:

  1. Be a team manager. This year, we’re looking for (1) Audio-Video Manager and (1) Game/Statistician Manager. Each will have the chance to earn a Varsity letter, to learn leadership and organizational skills, and to fill a valuable role on the team.
  2. Compete in another sport for IVC.

If you have any tryout-related questions, please email head coach Troy Webb at twebb@ivcschools.com

It’s a Great Day to be a Ghost!
